this week was good because of...

...the one-year anniversary of our engagement.

...celebrating the anniversary with a wedding.

...a red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting.

...a productive Saturday afternoon of Christmas errands.

...using wi$dom to focus on Christmas shopping (v. personal shopping).

...wearing a new blouse for the first time.

...the ability to special order books and media from the campus bookstore at mostly comparable prices with very quick turn-around.

...good customer service that made getting a replacement copy of the November/December issue that never arrived super easy and fast.

...all the great recipes and ideas I find in issue after issue - such as...

...the rich deliciousness of blue cheese strip steaks with red bell peppers and balsamic drizzle (in the November/December 2010 issue).

...another great evening of yoga practice that included the opportunity to refine a pose I have always enjoyed.

...sleeping bookends.

...sharing a good laugh about the importance of picking your battles.

...the glow of the morning sunshine on the flowers he brought me last week.

...this inspiring statement about family.

...cute chocolate treats at the grocery store.

...a "bright spot" for my football team.

...celebrating our December graduates at the mid-year recognition ceremony.

...relaxing on the couch for a midweek movie night.

...the seating arrangement we've concocted to make lounging on a love seat super comfortable and snuggly.

...the adorableness of the new "Winnie the Pooh" movie.

...testing Wildcat Guy's skills (and okay, mine) by playing snippets of the movie in Spanish afterwards.

...making a colorful and filling chef salad.

...the upcoming release of a new novel by one of my favorite authors.

...the Christmas festivities hosted by my staff on Friday night.

...early preparations for the campus' closing for the winter break.

...finding confetti from a fabulous wedding still in the wonderful heels I wore.

...my students' delight at spending a few minutes interacting with Gru.

...positive and constructive feedback from one of my student staffs about my performance as their supervisor.

...the lazy Saturday-night treat of another cupcake from the box that Wildcat Guy brought.

...curiosity about the new movie based on Nicholas Sparks' book.

What made your week good?
