What a difference a good weekend makes!

First, thank you everyone so much for the grandpa-thoughts. He's had various complications recently from the aneurysm (sp?) surgery he had in the fall, but it looks like they may have finally figured out what's going on (at least from the medical standpoint). So after four days in the hospital, he got to go home Friday morning, which was a very good thing. Now all Mom has to do is figure out how to convince her 77-year old father that he needs to really consider changing his eating habits, and be more aware of what he can and can't do...not an easy feat when he's the independent, hard-headed type. (at least we know where I get that from.) So thank you...the happy thoughts (for him and for me) are working.

Even better, I got to spend the weekend with some of my dearest friends, and it was just what I needed. We laughed, celebrated, relaxed, laughed, got lost, watched basketball...oh, and we laughed. These girls are the best type of friend you can have - the type who you instantly fall into a comfortable mood with, even when it's been well over a year since you've last seen them. Pictures and stories are absolutely on their way...at some point later this week, after I'm home (home..woo-hoo!). Because really? Even if I didn't have work to do, it would still take me that long to distill two and a half days of laughter and fun into something understandable and blog-worthy.

In the meantime, I thought I'd share this fabulous photo to tide you over. This is seriously the proverbial icing on the cake that has been my weekend. Yes, that's a jacuzzi tub...and yes, it's in my hotel room. The karma gods were loving me lots when this room assignment was made, and you can bet I'm going to take advantage of this unexpected perk!

Glad to hear that the happy thoughts are working. Let me know if you need a pick me up or bad Laffy Taffy jokes. Oh and I LOVE your hot tub. I had one like that in my room at the Casino in Iowa. Fantastic! Miss you!
